Service Description

The Mighty Shali Tibba is the abode of goddess Bhimakali at an altitude of 2800M above sea level. To most human beings it's a common hiking trail that serves as a day hike and a chance to pay reverence to the goddess. A few years ago 4 members of our team thought it would be kinda cool to take their mountain bikes to the top! So on a rainy monsoon morning a few years ago, they somehow managed to drag themselves out of bed and on those pointy saddles and headed towards the mighty shali. From Shimla a 40 odd km bike ride gets you to the base of shali tibba in a little village called khatnol. There are multiple ways to get there, depending on how well can you keep the rubberside down - you can take the paved( well not really paved ) road, the walking trails meant for humans, or the goat trail to get to Khatnol - from there its a vertical mule trail through a drop dead gorgeous , deodar and himalayan pine forest that takes you to the peak- The legend has it that the king of Faridkot( a region ertswhile Punjab). Its rocky, curvy, steep and beautiful! The views are panoramic in every possible direction once you cross the tree line some 200 HM below the peak. The cliffs drop thousands of feet at once and they do make your heart tingle! From Khatnol its almost a 1100 M elevation gain in about 5 Km. The ascending is hard but boy is that descent fun! A proper full suspension bike was probably made with a descent like that in mind! what goes up , comes down very fast. could not be more apt - What takes you 3 hours to get up, takes around 20 min to come down!
